Singapore EXPO (1 Expo Drive, Changi) is Singapore's largest convention and exhibition venue, with 100,000 sqm of event space across ten halls, the MAX Atria ballroom and five Summit meeting rooms. The most common issue: hall lighting. Singapore EXPO's Halls 1-10 have inconsistent house lighting across sections — the hall-width sodium vapour fixtures create warm yellow pools with cold LED fill at the ceiling perimeter, producing a mixed colour temperature that is difficult to correct in post without the right white balance baseline. The crew sets custom white balance per hall section, not a single venue-wide preset. For MAX Atria galas, the lighting is more controlled (dedicated event lighting rig from the ceiling), but the venue's size (1,000+ pax) requires supplementary fill lights for table-level coverage.

The second EXPO-specific constraint: connectivity. House lighting: mixed sodium vapour + LED perimeter — warm yellow zones with cold fill. For video production, supplementary LED panels on lightstand are required for any table or stage coverage in these halls. Audio: no central FOH for hall events — each exhibitor operates independently or the main stage has its own FOH desk. Signal access for livestream: bonded 4G/LTE is the only reliable path (EXPO's shared Wi-Fi is unusable during peak consumer events).

Halls 6–10 (combined up to 50,000 sqm, divisible): Similar scale to Halls 1-5 but with full LED house lighting — more consistent colour temperature, easier to correct in post. Used for industrial and B2B trade events, medical equipment exhibitions, government public consultations and large MICE productions. The LED system in Halls 6-10 allows for dimming control via the Singapore EXPO Exhibition Services team — useful for keynote or main stage presentations where ambient light needs to be reduced for better projection visibility.

MAX Atria (1,000–8,000 pax): Singapore EXPO's purpose-built gala and banquet hall. Used for corporate galas, charity galas, award ceremonies and large anniversary dinners. Dedicated event lighting rig (programmable colour-shifting LEDs, follow spots for main stage, pinspot downlights for tables) — this is the most controllable lighting environment in the venue. For video production, 2-camera minimum is standard (one wide for room atmosphere, one telephoto for stage). Summit 1–5 (40-300 pax per room): The Summit meeting rooms at Singapore EXPO are used for mid-size conferences, workshops, AGMs, training days and CPD seminars. Ceiling height is lower than the halls — more controlled acoustic environment, better for single-camera conference recording. House lighting is LED with dimming control. Summit rooms have a dedicated AV desk (in-house EXPO AV team); signal access for recording or streaming must be arranged through the EXPO Events team at least 5 working days before the event. Multi-room simultaneous coverage across Summit rooms from $5,500 (2 rooms, 2 separate crews).

Load-in and crew logistics: For hall events, the crew is registered as a service vendor through the organiser's exhibitor services manual (issued 3-4 weeks before). Equipment enters via the Level 1 West loading bay (vehicle pass required, issued by the official contractor or EXPO Exhibition Services). For Summit and MAX Atria events, crew passes are arranged via the EXPO Events team at least 48 hours in advance. The crew arrives 90 minutes early for setup, AV briefing and load-in clearance before the event opens.
